What started as a planning solution for operating under pandemic restrictions blossomed into a rebranding and marketing strategy for one of Baltimore’s beloved neighborhoods. When branding a place, it's tough to encapsulate a place's essence with a single icon or word. This is because no community is one-dimensional; they are multi-layered organisms. From the time it was first settled in the early 1700s to this day, Fell's Point has always been an active, evolving neighborhood with retail, hospitality, cultural, and residential components that create a vibrant and robust community. The goal for Fell's Point Main Street was focused on bringing visitors back to Fells Point during the pandemic but create a marketing strategy flexible enough to represent the community and the entirety of Fells Point into the future.

Fells Point is a community built on countless stories some old some new, but the story continues to evolve with each passing moment. Fell's Point, unlike places such as Williamsburg or Jamestown, which are snapshots of moments history Fell’s Point is a story that is still unfolding. That is what makes this place extraordinary; the combination of local offerings and historical significance alongside the simple fact that this place is a living and breathing community. That is what keeps this district alive and helps it evolve with the marketplace. Fell's Point is a true example of a sustainable historic community. So an identity was developed that could express all those unique features.

The brandmark reduces the quirky geographic boundaries and streets of Fell's Point into basic shapes and creates a simple yet effective style to be used throughout the identity system. Vibrant colors reflect the boldness of this community, and the "building block" illustration style speaks to the endless possibilities it has to offer.

When the brand was released to local businesses and the community-at-large, they all saw something that resonated with them. Whether it was the local experience seeker looking for an evening out on the town—or the history buff walking down Fell's Point's cobblestoned roads; there is a little bit of everything infused into the identity to foster a sense of ownership no matter who you are.
